ROLE graphic design

For each of the Facebook banners below, I took the existing DVD art of a TV show or movie and utilized it to design pieces that complimented the existing art, embodied the spirit of the story, and displayed important release information. Sometimes this meant me piecing together elements of existing art in a seamless manner, and sometimes it meant creating new elements to work around the limitations of existing art.

Take a look at the Star Trek Picard banner below—the characters are incorporated into the blue, galaxy-esque background so completely that it would be difficult and time consuming to mask them out and fairly impossible to make them look natural. So I kept them in that background, but in a way that was deliberate, by using the outline of the delta insignia. It almost looks like a rip in space-time, then I added the 3D gray curved lines to mimic the key art and add more depth. Finally, I placed a stock photo of space in black and white as a homage to the Blu-Ray Steelbook version and touched it up with a black brush to make the coloring more atmospheric. Scroll down, and you will find promotional social graphics I created as well.
